Excel Christian Academy is purchasing the old Emerson Elementary School and will be relocating there in the 2018-2019 school year. We have been asked by Excel Christian to consider relocating to that facility and partner together in ministry. After much prayer and discussion, the Church Elders and Staff have agreed to this offer.
There are several reasons why this move makes sense to us. This will allow us not to setup and breakdown every week. It will also give us access to the facility at any time, opening the door for more discipleship and community outreach opportunities. This will also allow us to focus on other ministry objectives. And finally, we will be switching to padded-cushioned chairs in our worship service.
The plan is to have a "soft" opening on Sunday, September 10, with a community opening on Sunday, September 17. In the meantime, we could use your help to upgrade some areas in the facility. Please sign up for some times to help in the form below.
CHURCH LAND PURCHASE
We have been given the opportunity to purchase a 20 acre tract of land in Emerson as a future location of Lake Point Church. The Church Elders and the land owner have agreed upon a price and contract details. In accordance with our Bylaws, the church members will vote on the option to enter into contract and purchase the land. The vote will take place on Sunday, July 30th during our worship service.
Here are the details of the contact and agreement:
Price is $340,000 for 20 acres (at $17,000 per acre)
Purchase is made 18 months after signing contract to give us time to raise the funds
Contract is contingent upon obtaining a Conditional Use Permit from the City of Emerson
$10,000 will be paid as earnest money upon receiving the Conditional Use Permit
We are allowed to leave the contract if unable to raise complete funds
We are proposing a main entrance off Red Top Mountain Road
We desire to build a community park and garden on the property for the community to enjoy
Approximately $10,000 is needed for initial engineering and site design renderings for the purpose of obtaining a Conditional Use Permit
This beautiful piece of property is nestled between Fourth Street and Red Top Mountain Road. It has great access to Hwy 41, downtown Emerson and LakePoint Sporting Community. We feel it's easily accessible to the local community as well as people here from out of town.
