What is Mission Christmas?
We partner with local schools to identify families who may need assistance with presents for their children during the Christmas season.
How is Mission Christmas Accomplished?
Once these families are identified, we invite them to participate in Mission Christmas. We raise funds through the community to provide $100 per child for gifts at Christmas.
- Families are invited to a free breakfast at St. Angelo's Pizza in Emerson on Saturday, December 13th at 7:30am.
- After breakfast, children enjoy free activities at LakePoint Station while the parents go shopping.
- Parents and assigned adult volunteers shop at the Acworth WalMart where they can spend $100 per child.
- After the shopping experience, parents return to LakePoint Station where a private room is setup for free gift wrapping.
- Parents place wrapped gifts in their vehicles and pick up their children.
What Makes Mission Christmas Special?
- Relationships are important to us. We are intentional to create moments where relationships are established through the family-style breakfast, the guided children's activities at LakePoint Station, and the conversations with parents while shopping.
- Encouraging parents is important to us. When the children are dismissed to LakePoint Station, we tell the parents to not let the children know these presents came from outside of their family. We are careful to protect those special Christmas morning memories.
- We value our strategic community partners. We could not do this without the help of people in the community sponsoring a child or the business partners hosting these wonderful families.
How Can I Help?
You can help by donating $100 to provide Christmas for a child or a different amount for multiple children. You can also volunteer your time to help Mission Christmas be a success.
